JOB OPPORTUNITY: CAD (computer aided design) mechanical design/drafting position
Team Corporation has an immediate job opening for a mechanical designer/drafter.
We do almost all of our design work using Autodesk Inventor 3D solid modeling software. We also use AutoCAD 2D software.
Team Corporation designs and manufactures "vibration test equipment". Our website at Teamcorporation.com has examples of this equipment. It consists of unique hydraulic and mechanical components combined into custom systems. Most of these components are designed and manufactured by Team Corporation. This equipment is used by automobile manufacturers, aerospace companies, military test laboratories, and others to replicate different vibration conditions in the course of testing various products. It can be used to simulate earthquakes, the vibration experienced by a vehicle traveling over rough roads, the vibration of an aircraft in flight, etc.
The design and drafting work involves creating layout drawings, proposal drawings for sales purposes, detailed manufacturing drawings for use in the manufacturing process, and assembly drawings. Designers work from hand sketches, marked up copies of existing drawings, and verbal instructions. We encourage you to apply your creative ideas to solve design requirements. Our projects are constantly changing as customers request us to design new equipment to suit their requirements. Our one location includes engineering and manufacturing.
Familiarity with basic machine shop practices and basic mechanical design would be very useful in this position. The ability to do routine math and trigonometry calculations is needed.
Team Corporation is a small company with approximately 50 employees. You will work in a small group and interact with engineers, machine shop personnel, and customers regularly. Occasional travel to a customer’s facility to assist with installation of equipment is also possible.
